Creating impactful, socially and environmentally responsible events
Together, we aim to:
- reduce our environmental footprint
- support communities in their transition to a sustainable economy
- promote innovation
- embrace diversity and inclusion in all its dimensions
As part of the Easyfairs Group, we are members of the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge and commit to being net zero by 2050 and to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
THE 6 MAIN INITIATIVES
to reach these objectives:
1.
Production & waste
We only use all-in stands
- We sort all waste
- We put sorting bins at strategic locations
- We provide exhibitors with waste kits
- We exclusively use recyclable runners as flooring
- We are committed to reducing plastic and paper waste
- Exhibitors and visitors make use of our SmartBadge technology
- We use recyclable plastic for our production needs
- We favor digital communications and provide digital signage whenever possible
- We reuse printed banners, flags, and signs for future editions of Empack
- We use eco-friendly cleaning products
2.
Energy
We use renewable energy
- The solar panels at the roof of Flanders Expo provide Empack with green energy
- Flanders Expo and Nekkerhal-Brussels North are both equipped with LED lighting, as well as our all-in stands
- We limit our energy consumption by not only strictly controlling the heating, but also the lighting and HVAC levels during the buildup and dismantling of Empack
- We turn off electricity at night
- We limit the temperature to 18°C
- The toilets at Flanders Expo, Nekkerhal-Brussels North and Namur Expo have eco-friendly taps
